There are three ways to pay for electricity, gas, and water.
Decide which method suits you best beforehand to avoid forgetting to pay.1. Three Methods
- Convenience Store Payment β A paper payment slip will be sent to you by mail. You pay in cash at the convenience store register. You can pay even without a bank account.
- Bank Transfer β The payment is automatically deducted from your bank account. This is the most recommended method. You won't forget to pay, and it may be slightly cheaper depending on the company.
- Credit Card β The payment is deducted from your card. Applications can often be made online.
2. How to Set Up Bank Transfer
- Apply through each company's website or the instructions on the back of the payment slip you received.
- You will need your bank account number and the seal (or online authentication) for that account.
- It takes 1-2 months from application until it begins. Please continue paying at convenience stores during that time.
3. What to do if the deadline passes
- Payment slips have an expiration date. Even if it passes, you can usually continue paying at convenience stores for a while.
- If you leave it any longer, you will receive a reminder notice, and eventually your service will be stopped.
- Even if you pay after your service has been stopped, you won't get a refund immediately. Especially with gas, someone needs to be present to turn it on, so you might not be able to use hot water that day.
If you can't pay, please call and discuss it first. They may be able to wait. Ignoring it and keeping quiet will only lead to the worst possible outcome.
4. Receipt and Statement
- Please do not throw away the receipt you paid with at the convenience store. It is the only proof that you paid.
- You will receive a monthly usage statement. If it has suddenly increased compared to last month, it may be due to a water leak or a malfunctioning appliance.
5. Small things to save money
- You may get a discount if you bundle your electricity and gas with the same company.
- It is often cheaper not to turn your air conditioner on and off repeatedly.
- In winter, if you take baths consecutively, you reduce the amount of water you need to reheat.
Rate plans and discounts vary by company. Please check the official information of each company.
